Haymarket Center offers substance abuse programs to meet the needs of chemically-dependent men and women in a variety of situations.

Offered to individuals who have not had prior treatment for substance abuse. It is a three-week program with four one-hour sessions daily, five days each week. Meeting at Haymarket Center at 9 a.m., members of a group of 12 receive basic substance abuse education and counseling. They have lunch together and join in discussions of recovery issues and individual problems.

For individuals who have been in other primary treatment like the 28-day residential programs offered separately to men and women at Haymarket Center and elsewhere. The three-week program offers four hour-long sessions of five days each week, emphasizing relapse prevention and working on resolving specific issues that may not have surfaced in prior treatment. Men and women in these groups of 12 generally prepare themselves to go to work or to school and to get their family relationships back together.

Provides continuing care to individuals who have completed the Primary Intensive Outpatient or the Intensive Outpatient Programs at Haymarket Center or have been referred from other programs. Groups of 12 men and women meet twice each week and relapse prevention is emphasized as clients work to consolidate recovery.
