Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner signed two bills targeting the savage crime of human trafficking, one creating a statewide task force and one to provide medical assistance to victims.

Haymarket Center has been working to increase awareness of the problem of forced sexual exploitation with a number of presentations and  workshops for several years. Dr. Dan Lustig, Vice President of Clinical Services, has been an outspoken advocate for the need to address this problem and has worked to educate legislators, law enforcement officials and clinicians about the scope and degree of devastation wrought by this particulary ugly crime.

Haymarket Center has had programs to help victims of human trafficking for several years, offering recovery services in both a residential and drop-in basis.
